How so few words can inform...if one has the knowledge to understand.  In this case it is facinating, but simple story of Nakoula Basseley Nakoula, the maker of the infamous Mohammed video.
And here is the real interesting facts:
NYT November 25, 2012 by Serge Kovaleski and Brook Barnes
From Man Who Insulted Muhammad, No Regret
Nakoula Basseley Nakoula grew up in Egypt but came to the United States and wed Ingrid N. Rodriguez in 1986 in Nevada, according to state marriage records. They divorced in 1990, the records show. Soon afterward, while living in California, he married an Egyptian woman, Olivia Ibrahim, with whom he has three children. Although the couple divorced, the family members all lived together on a cul-de-sac in Cerritos until going into hiding after the video spread.
So, for those without inside knowledge, here is the back story:
Nakoula came to the United States somehow.  Probably on a tourist visa in 1986.  He found a woman, a Hispanic woman, perhaps a white Hispanic woman, to marry him.  Four years later they divorced.  That is important in that had they divorced sooner, Nakoula might have been deported.  Marriages between an alien and a U.S. citizen are scrutinized approximatley 2 years after the marriage.  Presumably at this time, Nakoula was granted conditional permanent residency, then required at the end of two years to appear before the unlamented Immigration and Naturalization Service to prove he was still in a valid marriage.
Now Nakoula probably had some good advice and waited approximately two more years to divorce.  It is most likely that there never was a valid marriage in the first place.  Ingrid Rodriguez was most likely paid to marry Nakoula or Nakoula entered into the marriage with the intent of divorcing her at the first opportunity.  Not unheard of in immigration law enforcement.  Many currently Arab terrorists at large in the United States origionally came here in the late 80s and early 90s by the marriage track using both strategies.
Nakoula quickly remarried.  Presumably to the current ex-wife he is co-habitating with.  There is a good chance that if marriage records in Egypt were closely examined one might find a marriage certificate documenting a marriage to the second wife that predates the "American" marriage.  That is actually quite another common tactic in immigration law.  Divorce first real wife, find an American second wife, then divorce second wife and marry first wife again.  A well-worn tactic from Filippino immigrants especially.
But the key to know why Nakoula was not previously deported is that between 1990 and his first arrest he naturalized.  Once that occures, one cannot be deported for any reason, unless the person is denaturalized for some act that predates the naturalization.  So, since the fraudulent marriage was not uncovered and his first conviction for a crime was not most likely until after he naturalized, he is here forever, unless an enterprising ICE SVU Visa Fraud Officer in the American Embassy in Cairo finds that first marriage cetificate or Ingrid Rodriguez confesses.
But of interest is that the Paper of Record ignored the immigration fraud angle which is quite well known in the immigrant community, but did give readers with inside knowledge just enough information to put together the pieces.

Republican Sham of a VAT Tax on the American People

To contact us Click HERE
Even those with a rudimentary understanding of our income tax will know that the Congress end-rounded the Constitution by eliminating the equal "apportionment" requirement. The income tax started out as only a tax of 1% on incomes exceeding $3,000 and then 7% exceeding $500,000. In 1917 there were but 3,473 returns - TOTAL! How's that play out today for trusting your government!

We should point out that Lincoln was the first ever President to impose an income tax in 1862. Subsequently, direct income taxes were rightfully held to be un-Constitutional. So, if Republican Lincoln could break the Constitution, why shouldn't today's GOP sneak in a VAT on the American people? It's consistent with their historical methods of building government bigger. Yes, We Can!

The Value-Added Tax Is Not the Answer

by Murray N. Rothbard

This originally appeared in Human Events, March 11, 1972.

One of the great and striking facts of recent months is the growing resistance to further taxes on the part of the long-suffering American public. Every individual, business, or organization in American society acquires its revenue by the peaceful and voluntary sale of productive goods and services to the consumer, or by voluntary donations from people who wish to further whatever the group or organization is doing. Only government acquires its income by the coercive imposition of taxes. The welcome new element is the growing resistance to further tax exactions by the American people.

Oops, don't neglect to add on your state, county, or city sales taxes!

In its endless quest for more and better booty, the government has contrived to tax everything it can find, and in countless ways. Its motto can almost be said to be, "If it moves, tax it!"

Every income, every activity, every piece of property, every person in the land is subject to a battery of tax extortions, direct and indirect, visible and invisible. There is of course nothing new about this; what is new is that the accelerating drive of the government to tax has begun to run into determined resistance on the part of the American citizenry.

It is no secret that the income tax, the favorite of government for its ability to reach in and openly extract funds from everyone's income, has reached its political limit in this country. The poor and the middle class are now taxed so heavily that the federal government, in particular, dares not try to extort even more ruinous levies.

The outraged taxpayer, after all, can easily become the outraged voter. How outraged the voters can be was brought home to the politicians last November, when locality after locality throughout the country rose in wrath to vote down proposed bond issues, even for the long-sacrosanct purpose of expanding public schools.

Defeat in New York

The most heartening example – and one that can only give us all hope for a free America – was in New York City, where every leading politician of both parties, aided and abetted by a heavily financed and demagogic TV campaign, urged the voters to support a transportation bond issue. Yet the bond issue was overwhelmingly defeated – and this lesson for all of our politicians was a sharp and salutary one.

Finally, the property tax, the mainstay of local government as the income tax is at the federal level, is now generally acknowledged to have a devastating effect on the nation's housing. The property tax discourages improvements and investments in housing, has driven countless Americans out of their homes, and has led to spiraling tax abandonments in, for example, New York City, with a resulting deterioration of blighted slum housing.

Government, in short, has reached its tax limit; the people were finally saying an emphatic "No!" to any further rise in their tax burden. What was ever-encroaching government going to do? The nation's economists, most of whom are ever eager to serve as technicians for the expansion of state power, were at hand with an answer, a new rabbit out of the hat to save the day for Big Government.

They pointed out that the income tax and property tax were too evident, too visible, and that so are the generally hated sales tax and excise taxes on specific commodities. But how about a tax that remains totally hidden, that the consumer or average American cannot identify and pinpoint as the object of his wrath? It was this deliciously hidden quality that brought forth the rapt attention of the Nixon administration, the "Value Added Tax" (VAT).

The great individualist Frank Chodorov, once an editor of Human Events, explained clearly the hankering of government for hidden taxation:
It is not the size of the yield, nor the certainty of collection, which gives indirect taxation [read: VAT] preeminence in the state's scheme of appropriation. Its most commendable quality is that of being surreptitious. It is taking, so to speak, while the victim is not looking.

Those who strain themselves to give taxation a moral character are under obligation to explain the state's preoccupation with hiding taxes in the price of goods. (Frank Chodorov, Out of Step, Devin-Adair, 1962, p. 216–239)
The VAT is essentially a national sales tax, levied in proportion to the goods and services produced and sold. But its delightful concealment comes from the fact that the VAT is levied at each step of the way in the production process: on farmer, manufacturer, jobber and wholesaler, and only slightly on the retailer.

The difference is that when a consumer pays a 7 percent sales tax on every purchase, his indignation rises and he points the finger of resentment at the politicians in charge of government; but if the 7 percent tax is hidden and paid by every firm rather than just at retail, the inevitably higher prices will be charged, not to the government where it belongs, but to grasping businessmen and avaricious trade unions.

While consumers, businessmen, and unions all blame each other for inflation like Kilkenny cats, Papa government is able to preserve its lofty moral purity, and to join in denouncing all of these groups for "causing inflation."

It is now easy to see the enthusiasm of the federal government and its economic advisers for the new scheme for a VAT. It allows the government to extract many more funds from the public – to bring about higher prices, lower production, and lower incomes – and yet totally escape the blame, which can easily be loaded on business, unions, or the consumer as the particular administration sees fit.

The VAT is, in short, a looming gigantic swindle upon the American public, and it is therefore vitally important that it not pass. For if it does, the encroaching menace of Big Government will get another, and prolonged, lease on life.

One of the selling points for VAT is that it is supposed only to replace the property tax for its prime task of financing local public schools. Any relief of the onerous burden of the property tax sounds good to many Americans.

But anyone familiar with the history of government or taxation should know the trap in this sort of promise. For we should all know by now that taxes never go down. Government, in its insatiable quest for new funds, never relaxes its grip on any source of revenue.

You know and I know that the property tax, even if replaced for school financing, will not really go down; it will simply be shifted to other expensive boondoggles of local government. And we also know full well that the VAT will not long be limited to financing the schools; its vast potential (a 10 percent VAT would bring in about $60 billion in revenue) is just too tempting for the government not to use it to the hilt, and, in the famous words of New Dealer Harry Hopkins, "to tax and tax, spend and spend, elect and elect."

Let us now delve more deeply into the specific nature of the VAT. A given percentage (the Nixon administration proposal is 3 percent) is levied, not on retail sales, but on the sales of each stage of production, with the business firm deducting from its liability the tax embodied in the purchases that he makes from previous stages. It is thus a sales tax hidden at each stage of production, from the farmer or miner down to the retailer.
A "Regressive" Tax

COMMUNIST PARTY USA CELEBRATES OBAMA VICTORY OVER RACIST WHITE PEOPLE

You know the GOP's in deep pluff mud when they can't even win by cheating!

11-29-2012 6:29 pm - Bob Unruh - World Net Daily

“An enormous people’s victory.” That’s how the political party of Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels jubilantly celebrated the results of the 2012 presidential election in the United States, which will put Barack Obama in the White House for another four years.

The comment was in a report to the Communist Party USA national committee from the party’s chairman, Sam Webb.

“We meet on the heels of an enormous people’s victory. It was a long and bitterly contested battle in which the forces of inclusive democracy came out on top. The better angels of the American people spread their wings,” he wrote in the online report.

He said blacks, Hispanics and women worked together to defeat “racist … white people” and that it now is time for the Communist Party USA to work on the foundations established by Obama on issues regarding the environment, homosexual marriage and minorities to its potential.

“If anything the vote … is an insistent call for action on the most pressing problems facing the working class and people. That is the election’s mandate,” he wrote. “This was not a vote in favor of destroying social programs like Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid; or rolling back domestic spending; or resolving the budget crisis on the people’s backs.

“It was instead a vote for jobs, housing relief, health care, withdrawal of our troops from Afghanistan, an end to U.S.-led wars in the Middle East, preservation of the social safety net, health care access, reproductive rights, and equal pay for women, infrastructure renewal (an issue that took on greater importance after megastorm Sandy), marriage equality, a larger commitment to public education, a tax system in which the wealthiest families and corporations pay a much larger share, reform of our punitive and anti-democratic immigration laws, a reduction in unconscionable inequality, a legislative and electoral system that isn’t awash with corporate money,” he wrote.

Webb was convinced the CPUSA was integral to the election results.

“Our contribution was both ideological and practical. Nearly every member and leader was involved. Our work gives us much to build on as we throw ourselves into the post-election battles,” he wrote. “In every state and city our political relationships are broader and deeper; our presence and prestige are on a new level.”

And he accused Republicans of trying to manipulate the vote... More>>

Sen. Sessions (R-AL): Geithner’s ‘Secret’ Offer a ‘Fantasy’

Today, the Wall Street Journal reported that Secretary of the Treasury Timothy Geithner had supposedly offered a plan in secret that would solve the fiscal cliff impasse. The details of the plan itself were not released; as per the usual Obama administration strategy, the impression of compromise was delivered without actual compromise.

Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL), Ranking Member of the Senate Budget Committee, issued a scathing rebuke to Geithner and President Obama on their continued “secret” negotiations:

“Secretary Geithner has offered no plan on behalf of the President. Newspaper articles and leaks from anonymous aides are not a plan. Until this fantasy ‘plan’ from a secret meeting is made public and scored by the Congressional Budget Office it does not exist. Based on history, we can safely assume that reports that this ‘plan’ saves $4 trillion is a fabrication. It is a distraction that allows the White House to continue to run out the clock so it can have maximal leverage to force through a bad deal in the last minutes before midnight.”

Sessions is exactly correct. The Obama administration tried this same tactic during the last debt ceiling negotiation in 2011. They tried it again during Obamacare. House and Senate Republicans must call Obama out for non-transparency in these negotiations.

Why Is The US Building A Secret $100 Million Underground Facility Outside Tel Aviv?

Robert Johnson | Nov. 29, 2012, 11:29 AM

Leave it to legendary Walter Pincus from the Washington Post to flesh out a Request for Proposal construction project planned for Israel called Site 911.

The oddly named project will cost up to $100 million, take more than two years to complete, and can only be built by workers from specific countries with proper security clearances. Palestinians need not apply.

When complete the well-guarded compound will have five levels buried underground and six additional outbuildings on the above grounds, within the perimeter. At about 127,000 square feet, the first three floors will house classrooms, an auditorium, and a laboratory — all wedged behind shock resistant doors — with radiation protection and massive security.

Only one gate will allow workers entrance and exit during the project and that will be guarded by only Israelis.

The bottom two floors are smaller, according to the full line of schematics uploaded to the Army's Acquisition Business Web Site, and possibly used for equipment and storage.

As impressive as the American design features already are, Ada Karmi-Melamede Architects will decorate the entire site with rocks it chooses, but are paid for by the contractor, and provide three outdoor picnic tables.

Pincus also found this detailed description of the mezuzahs that will adorn every door in the facility:

These mezuzas, notes the [US Army] Corps, “shall be written in inerasable ink, on . . . uncoated leather parchment” and be handwritten by a scribe “holding a written authorization according to Jewish law.” The writing may be “Ashkenazik or Sepharadik” but “not a mixture” and “must be uniform.”

Also, “The Mezuzahs shall be proof-read by a computer at an authorized institution for Mezuzah inspection, as well as manually proof-read for the form of the letters by a proof-reader authorized by the Chief Rabbinate.” The mezuza shall be supplied with an aluminum housing with holes so it can be connected to the door frame or opening. Finally, “All Mezuzahs for the facility shall be affixed by the Base’s Rabbi or his appointed representative and not by the contractor staff.”Along with this request is another called 911 Phase 2.

Also in the $100 million range, Pincus finds the “complex facility with site development challenges” requiring services that include “electrical, communication, mechanical/ HVAC [heating, ventilation, air conditioning] and plumbing” requirements telling; and along with the fact that the contractor must posses a U.S. or Israeli Secret Security Clearance, he believes this phase to be a secure command center.

Pulitzer Prize winning, Yale grad, born in 1932 whose worked intelligence and media in D.C. since 1955 closes his piece with these shadowy words.

"The purpose of Site 911 is [un] clear."

The Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations has released a report detailing the total failure of the Department of Homeland Security's Fusion Centers.  The report describes the product of the Centers as useless, misleading, and too late to be useful if it by accident is accurate.

The New York Times October 2, 2012 by James Risen
Inquiry Cites Flaws in Counter-terrorism Offices
WASHINGTON — One of the nation’s biggest domestic counter-terrorism programs has failed to provide virtually any useful intelligence, according to Congressional investigators.
Their scathing report, to be released Wednesday, looked at problems in regional intelligence-gathering offices known as “fusion centers” that are financed by the Department of Homeland Security and created jointly with state and local law enforcement agencies.
The report found that the centers “forwarded intelligence of uneven quality — oftentimes shoddy, rarely timely, sometimes endangering citizens’ civil liberties and Privacy Act protections, occasionally taken from already published public sources, and more often than not unrelated to terrorism.”

More importantly, like much of DHS, it has focused on a mission already a function of other federal agencies, such as the Federal Bureau of Investigations:

The report found that the centers “forwarded intelligence of uneven quality — oftentimes shoddy, rarely timely, sometimes endangering citizens’ civil liberties and Privacy Act protections, occasionally taken from already published public sources, and more often than not unrelated to terrorism...”
However, state and local law enforcement agencies already were working with the F.B.I. in regional counterterror units called Joint Terrorism Task Forces, which were responsible for handling terrorism-related criminal cases. The fusion centers quickly became a black hole for taxpayer money, the Senate investigators found. The fusion centers were run by state and local officials, but were funded through grants to states from the Federal Emergency Management Agency with little oversight. That made it easy for state and local officials to divert the federal money earmarked for the centers to other things, including sport utility vehicles and dozens of flat-screen televisions for use by state and local agencies.

And as this blog reported, it was openly politically motivated, with a working mission of attacking whites, gun owners, libertarians, and veterans.

However, the Fusion Centers are not alone in their FBI Envy.  U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Special Victims Unit (ICE SVU), otherwise known as Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), has FBI Envy.  ICE SVU has decided that it will no longer enforce immigration law and has abandoned immigration law enforcement for child porn investigations.  It also has ambitions to replace not only the FBI, but also the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).  Just as the Fusion Centers have no real mission that is not duplicative of FBI Joint Terrorism Task Forces (JTTF), so ICE SVU is nothing more than a poorly dressed version of the FBI (yes, ICE SVU Special Agents are notorious for appearing at United States Attorney's Offices in jeans rather than in professional business attire.).  And like the Fusion Centers, ICE SVU has no mission other than avoiding arresting aliens at any cost.  While at the same time the FBI is forced to do the work that ICE SVU fails at, such as arresting alien terrorists who commit immigration fraud.

So, Hollywood has to go to Malaysia for Chinese actresses to play an Asian-American lesbian tramp who can't find a job in the Obama economy other than working at a donut store.  A profession dominated by Hmong immigrants by the way.

Isn't there a law against prostitutes immigrating (212(a)(2)(D)?  One would think that there are plenty of Asian American girls who will strip and play at lesbianism.

Immigrants And Person Of Color Attempt Terrorist Attack

In another complete fail for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Homeland Security Investigations (ICE SVU), the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) has arrested three aliens and a person of color, e.g. not a old white male Republican, for terrorism.
USA Today November 20, 2012
FBI: 4 Calif. Men Charged In Alleged Terror PlotLOS ANGELES (AP) — Four Southern California men have been charged with plotting to kill Americans and destroy U.S. targets overseas by joining al-Qaeda and the Taliban in Afghanistan, federal officials said Monday. The defendants, including a man who served in the U.S. Air Force, were arrested for plotting to bomb military bases and government facilities, and for planning to engage in "violent jihad," FBI spokeswoman Laura Eimiller said in a release.
A federal complaint unsealed Monday says 34-year-old Sohiel Omar Kabir of Pomona introduced two of the other men to the radical Islamist doctrine of Anwar al-Awlaki, a deceased al-Qaeda leader. Kabir served in the Air Force from 2000 to 2001.
The other two — 23-year-old Ralph Deleon of Ontario and 21-year-old Miguel Alejandro Santana Vidriales of Upland — converted to Islam in 2010 and began engaging with Kabir and others online in discussions about jihad, including posting radical content to Facebook and expressing extremist views in comments.
They later recruited 21-year-old Arifeen David Gojali of Riverside.
And the money shot:
Kabir is a naturalized U.S. citizen who was born in Afghanistan. Santana was born in Mexico, while Deleon was born in the Philippines. Both are lawful, permanent U.S. residents. Gojali is a U.S. citizen.
Here is Gojali:

Clearly a member of the Obama Coalition.  He might have been born here, but in no way is he American, enither by race, culture, or loyalty.  Most likely his parents immigrated, probably from the Philippines.
But this incident just shows that terrorism can be stopped by immigration controls.

Report: ICE Fails to Reliably Protect Immigrant Detainees from Physical and Sexual Abuse

The Detention Watch Network, a national coalition of organizations and individuals working to educate the public and policy makers about the U.S. immigration detention and deportation system, has coordinated the release of ten reports which detail the "acute and chronic human right violations occurring in immigration detention" in the United States.  The report is entitled: Expose & Close.
The report determined that: "there is no facility among the approximately 250 in operation at the time of publication where Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) reliably protects those inside from physical and sexual abuse," and there is a systemic failure to provide basic medical care.
From the executive summary of the report:
ICE currently incarcerates more than 400,000 immigrants every year in 33,400 prison andjail beds. Immigrants in ICE custody are technically in civil detention, meaning that they are locked up to ensure that they show up for their hearings and comply with the court’s decision, not because of any crime.
While no person should have to suffer the hardships of incarceration as it is practiced in the U.S., those who are in prisons and jails serving time for criminal convictions have legal protections that immigrants do not—for example the right to a lawyer and to a speedy trial. The majority of people in immigration detention do not have the right to a bond. This means thatpeople can spend months and sometimes years locked up while they work to prove thatthey have the right to stay in the U.S., withoutever having the chance to ask a judge tolet them remain with their families while theircases are ongoing.
Harsh deportation policiesalso mean that there are more and morepoints of entry in the immigration enforcementpipeline sending a record number of peopleinto detention.

Christian Science Monitor November 19, 2012 by Gillian Flaccus
Nativity Display Lawsuit: Atheists vs. Christians in Santa Monica
Nativity display lawsuit: A 60-year Christmas tradition ended in Santa Monica this year. But California churches have filed a lawsuit to bring back the Nativity display in a Santa Monica park.
Damon Vix didn't have to go to court to push Christmas out of the city of Santa Monica. He just joined the festivities.
The atheist's anti-God message alongside a life-sized nativity display in a park overlooking the beach ignited a debate that burned brighter than any Christmas candle.
Santa Monica officials snuffed the city's holiday tradition this year rather than referee the religious rumble, prompting churches that have set up a 14-scene Christian diorama for decades to sue over freedom of speech violations. Their attorney will ask a federal judge Monday to resurrect the depiction of Jesus' birth, while the city aims to eject the case.
"It's a sad, sad commentary on the attitudes of the day that a nearly 60-year-old Christmas tradition is now having to hunt for a home, something like our savior had to hunt for a place to be born because the world was not interested," said Hunter Jameson, head of the nonprofit Santa Monica Nativity Scene Committee that is suing.

And it looks like the atheists and immigrants are winning.

Immigrant And People Of Color Attempt Terrorist Attack

This Week's Steaming Pile: Voting Laws May Disenfranchise 10 Million Hispanic U.S. Citizens

To contact us Click HERE
by Velcro, Conservative Observer AZ: I wrote last week about how Raul "Boycott Arizona" Grijalva and liberals in general keep condescending to the Hispanic population as poor, oppressed people so that they (liberals) can continue to be the heroes, fighting injustice, etc. etc. It really ticks me off to see people treated that way because it disrespects Hispanics and everyone else.

So here's the latest chain to be thrown over Hispanics, not that anything here is new, because it's not. I first saw the Reuters article, "Voting Laws May Disenfranchise 10 Million Hispanic U.S. Citizens", by Patricia Zengerle. Writing from Washington, D.C. Not exactly the hub of Hispanic activity. This article cites a "study" from Advancement Project, a "next generation" social justice organization. You can check out the full 24-page report titled, "Segregating American Citizenship: Latino Voter Disenfranchisement in 2012". (As a teaser on their web site, they headline the article as "Voter Suppression Laws Could Disenfranchise 10 Million Latinos". A little spin? I think so).

The objections boil down to these, taken from the report's executive summary (Underline is mine, italic is in the original):
"The types of voter suppression laws and policies analyzed in this report are:
(1)Alleged noncitizen voter purges of registered voters (in 16 states), which target naturalized citizens and may violate equal protection guarantees. Communities of color, specifically Black, Latino and Asian Americans, form a large percentage of naturalized citizens in states pursuing these purges, with Latinos comprising the largest percentage in most. (See Table 2 in Section II.A.)

(2) Proof of citizenship requirements for voter registration (in effect in Georgia, and pending in Alabama and Arizona), which impose onerous and sometimes expensive documentation requirements on prospective voter registrants. These laws target naturalized citizens, many of whom are Latino. (See Section II.B)

(3) Restrictive photo ID laws in 9 states, which similarly impose costs in time and money for millions of Latino citizens who do not have the required documents. (See Table 4 in Section III)."
First off, having conducted the "study" themselves, they have violated a fundamental ethics in research principle, which is simply that they have a conflict of interest here.

Second, they assume that the purging of voter rolls is fraudulent. No evidence substantiates this and they cite no source. Biased reporting.

Third, they state that these actions target naturalized citizens, of course with communities of color hardest hit. This is also unfounded, because there may be lots of dead white people still on the voter rolls that need to be purged. Again, assumption with bias towards their claim, with no evidence to back it up.

Fourth, the allegation is laughable that proof of citizenship requirements impose onerous and expensive documentation requirements. I will address this sorry statement below. A foreign born, naturalized citizen will prize and cherish the documents that they worked so hard to get. And again with the targeted naturalized citizens.

Fifth, "restrictive" photo ID laws... these are the same laws all citizens must abide by, not just Latinos!

Do you see how patronizing these people are? Do you see how sickeningly condescending these liberals are? The poor hapless muddle-headed Latino CITIZENS can't navigate the big bad state laws that everyone else has to navigate to get themselves a photo ID!

Finally, just how bad is the cost? Here it is, straight from the horrible State of Arizona MVD web site: For an Arizona Driver's license, the MAXIMUM cost is $25.
  • For an Arizona ID card, the cost is $12.
  • There are 2 identification requirements to get either one:
  • Primary (must include date of birth): 22 possible documents
  • Secondary: 26 possible documents
  • If an applicant has nothing with a photo ID, he only needs a 3rd document:
  • Anything from the primary or secondary lists.
Who's really suppressing Latinos?

Obama's refusal to deport illegal aliens unconstitutional . . .

"It’s the duties of the president. He must always uphold the law." ~ John Yoo, Berkeley Law Professor and former State's attorney

By Perry Chiaramonte, FoxNews: Two law professors, including one who served in the Bush Justice Department, have published a paper charging that President Obama violated the Constitution with his directive to law enforcement not to deport illegal aliens.

In the paper entitled, “The Obama Administration, the Dream Act and the Take Care Clause,” authors Robert Delahunty of the University of St. Thomas [Minnesota] and John Yoo, a law professor at University of California at Berkeley and former U.S. deputy assistant attorney general, blast Obama's moratorium on deporting certain illegal immigrants. The professors dismissed the idea that the decision on whether to deport illegal immigrants who are arrested for minor infractions is a matter of prosecutorial discretion.

“If there’s one case and it’s left to the prosecutor, well that’s fine, but what Obama did was take a million cases and leave it up to prosecutorial discretion," John Yoo told FoxNews.com. “The only reason it’s under [Department of Homeland Security Secretary] Janet Napolitano’s discretion is because Obama had made his decision. If she’s doing it under her own, she would have to be fired.” . . . Read More

Hezbollah/Cartels link in Mexico? Napolitano: We've Got It Covered

by Velcro, Conservative Observer AZ.
Back on October 21 I wrote (Mexican Border Security: The Perfect Storm) about Arizona CD-3 Republican candidate Gabriela Saucedo Mercer's warning (also referenced here) that border security needs to be treated as national security.
Today, more concern has been expressed about our vulnerability, specifically regarding a potential Hezbollah-drug cartels link in Mexico, this coming from Rep. Sue Myrick (R-N.C.). The full article on FoxNews.com is worth reading for its broader background on the subject, including references to Tucson Police Department notices.

How concerned is former Arizona governor and Secretary of Homeland Security Janet "Nappy" Napolitano?
[Emphasis mine] "Myrick fired off a letter to Secretary of Department of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano, requesting DHS create a task force solely to watch Islamic extremist groups in Mexico. Napolitano said there was no need, saying current intelligence resources were adequate...

"I don't have a lot of faith in the Department of Homeland Security," said Myrick. "They should be looking at these groups in Mexico much more closely." (FoxNews.com)
So the $64,000 question (before correction for inflation) is, what kind of event will need to take place for the Federal government to get serious about this?

Immigration Debate

Kerby Anderson
by Kerby Anderson, Point of View: America will soon engage in another debate about immigration. Senators Chuck Schumer and Lindsey Graham are crafting a compromise proposal that is sure to be debated by both members of Congress and the citizens. Therefore, I invited a former INS agent on my radio program to put some important facts on the table.

One startling figure is the number of agents. While it is true that there are 15,000 employees in the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency, only about 7,000 are ICE agents who have to deal with more than just immigration issues. To put this in perspective, there are five times as many New York City police officers. Whatever we do, we are asking much from a very small number of agents.

Most everyone agrees that one key element in immigration reform is to adequately close the border. That may sound simple when people talk about the four “border states.” But my INS agent argued that America really has 50 border states. Any state that has a seaport or an international airport should be considered a “border state.” The terrorists who attacked the United States on 9/11 arrived here through one of our ports of entry, not by crossing our border with Mexico.

Another element of the immigration reform package being proposed is to “create a non-forgeable document.” That is a laudable goal. But what name do you put on this document? If the person who is here is undocumented, that means there is no authentic documention as to his or her true identity. At the very least, a face-to-face interview with an agent should take place before such a document is issued. But we are dealing with millions of people who are “undocumented” and only have 7,000 ICE asgents.

What will be the impact on the job market? Each year the United States admits more than 1.1 million lawful immigrants into the country. In other words, about 100,000 new lawful immigrants arrive each month, and that does not even count the illegal immigrants coming to this country. At a time when we are only adding about 100,000 new jobs each month, we are adding immigrants to the workforce faster than we are creating jobs. I’m Kerby Anderson, and that’s my point of view.
